Great programming, space, and sound but be very conscious of what you’re wearing to the venue as there is no guarantee of a coat check, has little ventilation, and it gets HOT when you’re dancing hard.
Gray area is a great venue for art exhibitions such as that of Rafael Lozano Hemmer's Tech Mechs exhibit.
The art installations in this particular series were really interesting and very interactive.
Gray area is very easily accessible by public transit. It's just 2 blocks away from the BART station.
There's great acts on here, but the venue could be better suited. They really could do with AC, or if they have it, turning it on would be nice. This was compounded by the fact that there was no outside area accessible with readmission allowed, so nowhere to take a break and cool down.
The exhibit was small and not as interactive as we thought. Overall it does look cool for photo ops. Would be cool for younger children.
Parking - horrible. Don't even try to look for street parking. Good luck! Best parking is Mission Bartlett parking garage
Staffs - friendly but minimum interactions
Inside is clean and restrooms are well kept.
Nice quaint venue, with a super interesting exhibit showing pieces where tech has been used to expose the harmful behaviors of humanity.
One of the pieces (the video game) didn't really seem to work though :(
Banging it out of the park with the freshest AR / VR synesthesia and art for all the years I've been coming here. A truly unique institution for digital humanities.
Nice little event space that I didn't know about before. Easy access from BART too
Gray area festival 2022 was so fun! :)))) the show was great and this venue blew me away
